Will tilapia eat the Algae Wafers that sink to the bottom?

Can tilapia strain powdered Algae out of the water if I pour the powdered Spirulina blue-green algae into the tank?

I know tilapia can strain algae out of the water, but powdered algae? Would be interesting to see.

Anyone know what the powder grain size is vs. the algal cell size?

Also, if you could get a live culture of spirulina you could get a 2nd product out of your system.

Yes, tilapia do eat the regular algae wafers. It usually takes a while for them to soften up enough, but they eventually disappear.

My 12 tilapia would eat a handful a day if I let them. I am feeding them 4 times a day on flake, azolla and algea wafers...
