Joel had the piping cut to size already and DRILLED!... I was feeling lazy....

I am going to make the outer stand pipes on the vertical mill at work to cut the grooves. 8 of them around the pipe will be a piece of cake, it has a memory setting or something so cut, turn, cut, etc.

I am pretty excited....

UPDATE: Heres a to-do list...

[s]Step 1 - Plan System[/s]
[s]Step 2 - Pickup Gear[/s]
Step 3 - Prepare Area (Clean, Pave, Remove Tree's etc.)
Step 4 - Set it all up...
Step 5 - Cycling, Cycling, Cycling!!!
Step 6 - Fishies!!!!
Step 7 - BAP Meeting + Beer!

- Got rid of about 40 coppas logs from the area, dads boss took them.
- Setup 500L tank outside of 'ground-zero', setup the existing pump and pumped directly to the existing growbeds. Tomorrow I can remove existing system and start taking down the shade house.
- Pruned some branches that were coming over the neighbors fence. The plan is to remove as much from our side of the fence so when the termite ridden tree DOES fall down, it should go their way, not ours.

One of the other two who is also setting up a system works in the manual arts department at work.... say no more! He is pulling some strings, calling in some favors apparently. We have the migs at work and all the tools at our disposal. We hope to make all seven up in one weekend, maybe!

Plan is to cut it all up one day, two of us welding the next day.

Measure twice dude ;-)

Might be worth your while putting one together as the prototype before you cut the rest - just to be sure all your calcs are stuff are good.

Yeah true, I am sure we will do that. I want to make sure I get an 'A' in metalwork this time round... LOL! I will most likely get it powder coated too.

We have left on of the GB's at school so we can work from it, for size and what-not.

I suppose I better post an update....

Unfortunately Sunday's have been the only day dedicated to AP lately. I have done a fair bit recently. Dad and I removed a huge cocas palm stump, we had to dig down about a metre all the way around it and then break the tap roots and then pull it out... That was a whole days job. Never again!!!

The triangle palm we are being a bit more careful with because we hope to transplant it. Its a very nice palm, but it is too close the house and most importantly it is in my way. We might sell it, might pay for a few bags of hydroton.

Paving has begun, we have paved under the big tank. We need to get a bricky in to extend the step (see drawing), we can't really pave the rest until that is done.

All the hardware is ready to go. Pipes are going in next weekend. I have the whole week after next off UNI so hopefully I can get a lot done then.

Attached is the final sketchup drawing fully to scale and with a nice looking patio put in. The patio is not going in straight away though. I really should start taking pictures of the progress, so alas no photos yet.

The to-do list...

[s]Step 1 - Plan System
Step 2 - Pickup Gear[/s]
Step 3 - Prepare Area ([s]Clean[s/], Pave, Remove Tree's etc.)
Step 4 - Set it all up...
Step 5 - Cycling, Cycling, Cycling!!!
Step 6 - Fishies!!!!
Step 7 - BAP Meeting + Beer! [s]

I hate to mention it Tim, but... didn't you say on your first post this was a 2 month project. What do you think you are, a Software project manager or something?!

Snap to it buddy - lets see some fishies! (says the person with a work crew so should be ignored)

Beautiful looking plan by the way - perhaps mine went up so fast because it is ugly.

This is technically my MKVII System.. Each one building up to the next.

I have hit a few snags ok... lol! Plus I am a perfectionist so it doesn't help.
