I have hte exact brand, so your colour charts will be the same as the ones i posted.

i have discrete kits as well as the freshwater master test kit (everything except nitrate in that one)

if the price difference is more than $20 to $30 then just get the one i have and buy the nitrate seperatly later

Cool!

A word of warning. follow the proceedure for the nitrate EXACTLY. Shake the bottles how it says. One of them is a suspension and needs to be shaken correctly to make the test valid. Also if you don't do it right enough times you risk the chance of buggerizing one of the botles as you'll be left with a think suspension.

Steve

I have a question. These talk about freshwater testing of PH and I know there are saltwater ones as well. Now what effect is my 5ppt of salt in my pond likely to have on me taking a ph test with a normal (freshwater) ph test kit? Steve?

Nice link, I paid over $50 for the exact same kit you guys are talking about, and Steve, I was being a bit lazy with the Nitrate test (only did it twice so far) and not waiting the correct time, but I will from now on...

Just put an order in for a master kit, plus KH/GH kit and an iron kit. Reckon it's time I got in touch with what is happenning in my system.

Salt water shows slightly different colours, but 5ppt is not salt water in my book! (37ppt)

A tip with the GH and KH testing. Its probably the easiest test you can do, provided you follow the instructions.

A few times i haven't been bothered capping and shaking the solution after every drop................ 20 drops later i realised that the GH was so low it changed colour after the second one

yeah Simmo, i did the same thing, and was suprised when nitrates read zero. Did it again taking my time to do it exactly and got a more realistic result.
