btw how do you put in the deg symbol? i always wondered.

The º symbol can be added by opening character map, finding it, copying it, pasting it into the thread.
Or for the keyboard savvy for any odd chars, hold 'alt' and type in the number (Using the keypad only, not keyboard nums) of the ascii code. which in this case is 0816 so type Alt+0816 using the numeric keypad. Or 0716 for a slightly smaller degree sign.

That's all there is too it - not too difficult eh? To add other characters, look them up in char map, read the shortcut in the bottom righthand corner and you can do the same.

When we lived in the flinders ranges, one day it was 19, the next day 39, shock horror. The flies were as bad as any place we have ever lived, times 20. Heather swallowed 2 on the way from her car to the pub on her first visit up there. I knew she had arrived cause I could hear her coughing and choking lol. We new the weather was hot when the flies went away. They used to depart at around the 53 deg mark. We used to sit around waiting for really dumb tourists who didn't realise we were about the hottest place on earth, drinking beer and playing cards, while the owner was away on her summer break. those were the days

central north WA has the worst flies in the world i'd put money on it
on a bad day they will swarm on you like bee's swarm, and you won't get a single morsel of food to your mouth before it's covered in flies.
if we could harness fly power in some way, wa would solve it's power needs forever i reckon.

Slipped away from my party. Both lamb roasts and the kanga roast were great. Everybody lapped them up - all gone. Smoked jade perch dip was also a hit (despite by wife criticising me for making it and suggesting that nobody would like it - she doesn't eat fish and doesn't like smoked meats). Anybody wan't a partly used wife??

I lost my worm farm on Boxing Day.
The blowflies have been and left their offspring. The fish have had a feed of maggots. I will need to wait for new worms to hatch and rebuild the numbers in the worm farm up again. Anything over 40°C for more than one day kills them off.

Perhaps I need to look at some sort of air cooling system for them?

Mrs does not like worm farm inside but it would fit.

I suppose I will need to install an evaporative cooler for it (bucket of water and old towels draped over the worm farm)
Under house is not an option - concrete floor!

That's a "Coolgardie Safe" - brilliant Aussie invention.

Concrete suspended slabs are great and easy and cheap, but geez to the P*** me off when I need to work on a place. I hate the buggers.
I once put ducted vacuum system in a suspended slab, lots of horizontal digging. Horrible. I couldn't even contemplate it where I live here with this Clay... It'd be horrible.

Dig a big cellar under your shed... :-) be nice and cool there...
