I remember when they flowered last year Gnash - we were thinking it may be a dragon fruit (Pitaya) but I took pics of mine and they were a little bit different. Must be a close relative though.

Defiantly a rellie, no fruit though unfortunately.

The real bonus is the bloom, after waiting a full year, watering and then watching the bud grow out.

Depends on the weather I think, If to hot during day then the flower just seems to wilt and never recover.
Last year it flowered two nights running and that was it, this year I assume because there is two flowers all the energy was used up on one night each?? who knows

Hi Gnash, looking good. We have one of those car shelters. We began with only 2 sides on it so of course it took off when we had one of our strong winds go through. Have done repairs and put all four sides on it, tied it down securely and haven't looked back. Quite hot inside. Fish tank temp yesterday was 32.8 - fish still surviving though. Tomato plants are doing okay although wilting a bit.
We were told there wouldn't be any silver perch fingerlings available in WA till about March/April. Can get bigger sp now from Jurien but would have to have them sent to Perth and then bring them back ourselves.
Let us know how you go sourcing your sp.

Will do see more, I'm planning to put a shade cloth cover over the shed to cut down on the sun a bit and i also have an old evaporate air-con I'm fiddling with for cooling. Going to try replace the 240v motor and pump with a 12v ones and run a solar panel and battery and see if it will work ( :? who knows) but worth a try in my spare time.
