It would seem that there is a problem with someone from America posting on here. Apparently none of you have bothered to really read my post. True, I'm not familiar with your forum, however, it was not my intention to be a spammer, but I know from experience that when I go looking for info on a forum, I only look at the string that is of interest to me, not everything that has ever been posted. By the way you will find that most forum members are as you say "far away" Joel Malcolm, the founder and chief AP guru around here is in fact an Aussie and I dare say the majority of our members hale from Down Under.

So does this statement:

By the way you will find that most forum members are as you say "far away" Joel Malcolm, the founder and chief AP guru around here is in fact an Aussie and I dare say the majority of our members hale from Down Under.

Mean that the forum is closed to those that you disagree with?

Codi, As I PM'd to you, your approach is poor and not winning you any friends here. After reading your posts, I would not do business with you just because of your attitude.

Codi, I wouldn't go Rupert bashing here. He is a RESPECTED contributor and you will find yourself greatly out numbered. I myself am an American living abroad and I thought I was being included in your invitation. No where do you say this is only for Americans. We can be a real helpful bunch of people but you need to be nice. Some ones grandmother once said, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything." Good advice, in my book.

By the way America is a Great country, just not the center of the universe.

Well I say is better to be thought a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt.
What gives you the right to spam the board and start attacking valued members?

Absolutely not. We crave discussion and pictures. We all read your post. That is why you are getting the response you are getting. Now lets talk about AP.

By the way I am American working abroad.

That's OK Janet, not comparing myself with the man, just making a point when I say not everybody agreed with what Jesus had to say either but it didn't make him a bad person, nor am I. Besides, you're too far away and as I have seen from most other post, more interested in attacking and accusing rather than being constructive. If you really are a Deputy Sheriff Janet, I wish you all the luck in the world at being safe in this mess of a world today. I, myself, went through the Missouri Highway Patrol academy in 1975 and worked until I was injured on the job in 1985. Enjoy life, it's much shorter than you think.

Not at all Codi.... and again I ask that everyone just step back a little.

I (and it would appear others) have expressed a doubt as to whether this was a spam post.

It really isn't personal Codi if you are genuine.

So lets take it that you are and allow the Mods to clean up the multiple posts and consolidate things....

Then we can move on to be a little more constructive.

If you have felt "attacked" in anyway then I can only suggest that as a newcommer, posting an agressive response in you first few posts to another member or members, some of whom have been members of the forum for some time, may not be seen as "respectful" and genuine... let alone conjusive to your ultimate aim.

One of the great features of this forum has been the openness and willingness to welcome all points of view and ideas and all comers.

I do ask though Codi, that you note my comments about the differences between aquariium systems and aquaponics systems and be prepared to put your past experience in the background until you have research, garnered, weighted and incorporated the essential differences and wealth of information provided by the members of this forum.

The attacks came from your VALUES MEMBERS FIRST check the post. As for where the project was to be located, my post also stated this:

With the concentrated effort of the members it could possibly turn out to be one of if not the largest production effort of it's kind in Florida.

As for my Aquaponics experience, for the past 40 years I have raised fish in Aquariums, outdoor tanks containg as much as 25,000 gallon of water each, ponds and yes, even swimming pools.

Still with all the whoopla I have received from my posts, I have yet to receive a response that has not been either negative or an attack of sorts. It would seem that everyone is more concerned and accusing me of spam rather than taking my explanation as the simple truth.

I found out about your forum through another Aquaponics individual who I have been collaborating with from Central Florida and he suggested I bring my idea here. Bad choice apparently. So, are there really any professionals on this forum or just individuals who had maybe tired of posting on MYSPACE?

AS to whether or not what you proposed was a commercial advertisement, as I said I would leave that to the operators of the board (partly why I blueflagged and PM'd them).... but come on be real.... to purchase large amounts of land and equipment and to staff and manage such a venture, even if most of the capital asset purchase is by grants etc.... means that the intention and existance of the "consortium" is to be a profit making enterprise... a business.

Rupert, what kind of enterprise have you ever seen that could operate at a loss. Is it a sin to produce food stuffs for people and get paid for doing it?

Codi,
If you had researched AP sufficiently, you would know that there are precious few "professionals", and they are mostly in..................... (wait for it...............) Australia. We are a GLOBAL group of AP hobbyists, some with visions of commercial implementation in the future. We are generally so widely scattered that we ignore the boundaries of state or country. We do not limit ourselves to associating only with people a few miles/kilometers away because then we would have only ourselves for company. At this point I have met 2 AP'ers face to face, and will be delighted and honored to meet a third tomorrow. In each case, the individuals went quite some distance out of their way to see my system.

You seem unwilling to learn proper ettiquette on this forum, and had you bothered to read for a bit (as most newcomers do) you would know we don't spam ourselves, that we respect all nationalities, and that we ask people to participate with a willingness and need to learn, and eagerness to share what they know.

Janet,

I don't believe that I have said anything derogatory about any other nationalities and as for proper etiquette which by the way only has three "ts", I didn't post here to start a romance or to get a date, my only interested was finding persons who possess an entrepreneurial spirit whether they are APs or attorneys.

The project I have in mind will have a place for all who have something to contribute, but no use for those who have no vision. As for being a new comer, to this forum, yes, but I started raising tropicals before you could walk.

I am not asking for anyone to teach me anything, not that I know everything, but that wasn't my purpose here. My Grandfather once told me that a man doesn't have to know everything as long as he knows where to find out the information he seeks. I seek to surround myself with individuals who possess different pieces of knowledge as Bill Gates did when he started Microsoft. He was not the genius that created MS DOS, he only bought it from a down and out programmer, but he was smart enough to surround himself with people who could help him take it where he wanted to go.

That is my goal. Gather enough learned individuals to be able to build a solid track to run on and see where it will take us.

Codi

Good luck, hope you suceed. It would be nice if what you set up was a not for profit organisation (think you will find it easier to get grants). Dosn't mean you can't get paid, just avoids corporatisation.

(not fond of Bill Gates)
