I was just out feeding the Barramundi and even though the water is only at about 18 degrees they seemed pretty hungry.. While tossing in the feed they were in a bit of a frenzy shooting up from the bottom of the tank, grabbing the pellets. Then suddenly the floating glass thermometer disappeared, nothing to unusual about that, I expected it to float back up again at any second, except that it didn't...

Then I noticed a barra swimming around deep in the tank without an inch of the thermometer poking out the end of it's mouth.. It must have had about two thirds of the thermometer stuck down it's gullet...

I watched it swim around like this for about 5 minutes and I began to wonder what the hell I was going to do to try and help it before it finally managed to spit it out..

From now on I think the thermometer will be going into the drain tank... :)

I have had barra spit out a huge lure with hooks
I don't think they would have any trouble spitting out a smooth thermometer when they find it isn't tasty.
Cheers

I used to do a lot of offshore fishing and I always said that I thought I could get a blue marlin to eat a tennis shoe.. Now I only wish I had tried!!
