You've already found and been reading at least one thread concerning a "springtail" feeder Hunter....

Keep searching I'm sure there's much more information in the forum already concerning "automatic" feeders :wink:

you can buy all sorts of commercial aquaculture feeders, from on demand feeders to screw feeders.
I am looking at building a screw feeder, but probably not until March.

yes, i know someone that has an automatic fish feeder. What u do is put chicken necks in a net, hang the net above the pond, flies will come along and lay eggs, maggots will hatch on the chicken necks and eat through them, then, they will fall threw the net into the pond and the fish will eat 'em.
