number three rule never change something that you know a subsequent change you're going to make will change for you.

Example: BIG algae bloom and high ph. take care of the algae THEN asses if it is necessary to adjust ph down :)

I just liked keeping the PH around 7 due to absorbing some nutrients... That is all. If I ran my system with normal hydro nutrients it was easy to keep the PH the same all the time however with the fish it keeps wanting to go alkaline.

well i never had much p
however i do like answers, our yank frend gave me an idea with her sergestion of a peat filter.
i built one today and have it cycling, not back into the tank yet,
over the next couple of days ill see if it stablises, i tested the idea with a pot of onions i have growing, pour tap water in the top alkaline test water out of the bottom Ph nutral
thanks yu may yet change my opion of yanks.
ill let you know how it goes over the next week
