would have to see a pic, jim, but i'm no expert in fish diseases. I'day more often than not fish are mis diagnosed.

I have noticed though with both trout and silvers that the tails are the first parts to get into trouble.

It could be fin rot, but it also could be just wear and tear from the tail being in contact with the tank. In the wild trout have pointy tails but any that come from a tank always have them rounded off to varying degrees.

Thanks for the input TM but the tails are completly gone and the flesh looks a bit bloody and they soon kark it. only 2 sofar the rest look fine.

At least 1 of the Trout we caught out of Steve's system when I was at his place had not tail at all :-/

have found that if theyre smaller than the rest there will be a dominant one that attacks them...esp if its a goldie in with the trout ;)

lol no still in the old system, trying to leave em there as long as possible, the ibc is buried in a dark corner of the property so i guess thats why i have been lucky so far.......if they be male n female then they will live passed xmas rofl

just goes to show its not tank insulation or burying the tank that makes the difference, is the location / shade of the beds. my tank was 28C tuesday 30C monday

time to pull the bed down methinks. it has given me its all :(

plants have just sat there and done nothing, not even the tommies or basil are moving.............and i know how quickly they grew last year in the AP
