Today i bartered two LARGE trout (gutted and scaled) for some stainless steel..................i think i got a good deal ;)

barrel is 300L
tank is approx 500L

:) :)

Oh i'm incredibly stoked with my trout! temp have rised to 25C each day, i think today saw 26C, one of the larger ones was looking unwell so i cleaned him too ;)

While i was cleaning one i saw about 60 or so little spheres about 3mm diameter and translucent colour come out. any ideas what they were?

They look like eggs.... wonder if you could accidently provoke some breeding in your system?

From my experience trout will be fine upto and including 24C as long as there is strong airation. Water temps have been hovering at 24C for the past two weeks, no problem.

yesterday and today the water temp was between 25C and 26C. Two of my largest trout gave it up. were fine and then not.

the one in the picture is dinner, 650g out of the spa, 425g gutted, scaled and minus head. Not a bad effort.

Gee, that is sure a nice size. When my water temp got to 23 degrees it was nearly all over for my fish as they showed visible signs of an inability to cope. They are much happier in the freezer.

How long did it take the trout to grow to that size?
