After our move from our little unit in Melbourne we have convinced some great friends with a large property to do a similar set up as our 6ft tank system to a 4000 Lt upgrade. Heres a few pictures of the progress so far ...
On another topic can anyone recommend a supplier of trout/ silver perch/marron fledglings not too far from Busselton 6280 WA... Thanks

Wacko! That is sure off to a great start, well done and good luck.
There is a trout hatchery in Pemberton, but at this time of the year the weather is getting too hot in tanks as 23 degrees seem to be the top of their range.

what a sneak! ;)

here i was thinking you were over the AP thing ;)

Good stuff, bud!

Perfect timeline really, get your system cycled and stable with some things like some silvers and then swing over to trout as soon as the tank temps drop to 18C or less regularly!!

Trout rock, just brought a few down to mum and dads for a barbie

love the blue barrel mate, have you filled it yet?

i used 100kg of coarse scoria, one shopping bag of FINE (really fine) sea shells and one bag of really LARGE shells.

The layering i used with dads was scoria to top of drain protector cap then bule betal screenings then shells then blue metal screenings then scoria

(bottom to top)

Just one observation... You will want to paint or completely cover those clear tubes... Algae will start to grow in the tubes and will eventually block them completely... Just something to be careful of.
