Well... I think the ones concern are particularly dodgy... the ones with FREE FREE FREE.....

I am not a Mac person... I don't own a Mac personally, but I use one at home, I fix them and use them at work... And I must say that I would prefer to use one any day... Except... I can't play games real well though. But If I had the money... Mac Pro dual boot XP and OSX.

TimC, don't get paid a dime from M$.... probably bloody should

Not meant as an attack on Macs at all... just a heads up for people .... and a gentle reminder to the MacSnobs that ... yes even Macs are/can be virus attacked and yes just like M$ they can suffer from rushed releases and faults....

I quite like Macs... but not to the level of hype that the MacAfficiandos continually bleat about....

To my mind there is no longer a substantive case or advantage sufficient to warrant the price differential or to make the case to change.

Is leopard better than Vista.... from what I've seen in terms of ease of upgrade and stability.... maybe.... in terms of whizzbang features....

Well neither frankly does much for me at all over previous versions...

Whereas I must say I really am warming to the new release of Ubuntu 7 as a user desktop system.... :D

But seriously I was only stirring you up Rupe.... I am firmly sticking with XP though... And work is following suite as long as possible. We have to buy all our new computers for next year quite soon because we need to buy the XP licences before they stop selling them.

I agree Ubuntu is definitely the way to go. The features that come in this FREE operating system is stacks better than Vista and OSX can offer. Couple that with OpenOffice, firefox and game emulation... Perfect system that runs lean and efficient.

I am having a bit of trouble....

Some whacko bit of software ... virus or trojan keeps adding a load of bup files to my quarantine directory.

I have ran adaware, spybot, norton, macafee and avg all to no avail.

Anyone had this problem?

Any ideas?

J7, have you been using Nero to burn DVDs???

A "bup" file is typically a file extension used when Nero backsup the *.ifo files on a DVD

I am so over WH Online.... I have been waiting for that come out for so long...I don't have the time now to warrant a subscription game. Have you ever played the Games Workshop tabletop games... I have a good couple of grands worth of miniatures at my place. They've got enough of my money...

PC - I am a FPS fan... FarCry, CS:S, HalfLife2, COD3&4, F.E.A.R, Battlefield 2, BF2142 and the long awaited CRYSIS... that game is going to kick some serious proverbial ass.

I just bought a PS3, not good when I am trying to study for exams. Passed Resistance: fall of man coop in medium, took a good 30 hours. Trying it in hard. Want to get Call of Duty 4 soon and NFS: Pro Street.

Yeah I have downloaded a few demos... We have to upgrade to ADSL2+ soon. It just takes too long on 1.5....

I have installed Ubuntu on the PS3 as well. Use it as a media server, going to see if I can get a USB capture card to work= taping stuff...

I bought it more for the bluray... Get Kingdom of Heaven: Directors Cut... If you have a Full-HD tv you will see everything, the individual fibres on their clothes to the make-up and the scratches on the swords.

I do use nero but have not used it for ages.

I cleared the quarantine file this evening and within an hour had over three thousand bup files sitting in there.

Some hidden prgram writes them into the quarantine file.
