EB and monya, feel free to correct me, but the way that i remember it was..............DPI vic has started getting a little bit more involved with policing the regs...........she said that you had to have a "permit" to keep fish, it was a free permit, but you had to apply none the less, and make sure you had all the guidelines in place, like a bung wall incase of a leak.......... She made the point that victorian waters are "any body of water in victoria" including a glass of water.

So i asked the question "so what you're telling me is that technically every single 1 foot aquarium owner has to get this permit and follow the guide lines to keep a gold fish?" She squirmed quite a bit but said technically "yes"

This is the point were i say "what ever" If DPI can't find room in their budget to segregate their edicts so that the same rules don't apply to a farmer with a 1 mega litre dam and a tropical aquarium owner then they can get stuffed. :angryfire:

If I go ahead with this and the cost will have a great part to play on that.
I am retired and the income not as it used to be how much do you want to pay for fresh fish and veggies buy the way we do save water doing things this way should be encouraged to do it not get slugged every way they can

Thats the thing, she said they are having trouble even policing the larger setups...........its not a matter of being able to poice people that have aquariums, its a matter of it being a ridiculous concept.

There are many laws like that. The more letters people acquire before getting govt jobs the less they actually know about how the world turns.
