http://www.loaches.com/disease-treatmen ... chloride-1

link above is to a med I use on my ornamentals.
I buy it as nilvern, a pig and poultry wormer.
It doesn't kill all worm types but in combo with praziquatrel seems to take down most of them.
Anyway cheap and ya a pretty friendly chemical (the levamisole not da prazi)

Don,
Remember that many of us eat our fish and veg, and wouldn't want strange chemicals in the system. We mainly treat with salt.

Besides, Worms make good fish food, ALIVE.
I wouldn't give any worms killed by a vermicide to my fish.

I would be wary of eating any fish which had eaten vermicide affected worms.

I understand this but there are worms that salt is not going to kill.
I am not talking about killing earthworms!
Parasites eh....
anyway if all seems bad and ya do a gill snip/poo check and under the scope it ya id worms or a necropsy pulls up adults......
well as far as I could see the levamisole-hydrochloride was the safest drug I could think of.
It is a super specific drug, and safe for humans, bacteria, snails, plants and animals. Parasitic worms seem to be the only things affected.
As far as I could think it seemed cheapest safest most effective solution.
how safe I don't know
:)
