Be careful crushing snail shells. You will get a nasty infection if you ever stab yaself on a shard. To make it even worse it will be a tiny looking wound at first and no-one will give ya sympathy lol

Wow, afaik these snails are the bane of any aquarist. They are a malaysian burrowing snail? and breed like rabbits. problem is (in aquariums) is they're almost impossible to get out, cos they hide under the gravel, so without especially agressive fish, you have a hazard.
Somebody mentioned feeding them to silvers... how have they got on there? I'd be pleased if we could get some use out of the vermin. Now only to find a predator for the southern sea star that's doing as much damage down south here as the crown of thorns is up north.
