Hmmm...I trying to be funny, sorry if it seemed otherwise...I pm'd steve with the file, if anyone else wants a copy, let me know.
I was just a little concerned about getting the forum blasted by copyright infringement.

No worries Del...one of the limitations of the medium is mistaking intent...funny that a system designed to speed up communication and make it easier actually can confuse meaning...that's why smilies are there  I, for one will use lots of them in the future :D :? :)

You know, often people think I am angry/mad/sad/grumpy when in fact I am none of the above...and that is face to face...I tell them that there won't be any doubt when it happens for real...can't use smileys there

The tank volume tool in the Nov SC looks interesting except for the fact that the pressure sensor use for measuring the depth costs $40 at J :(

I thought that was cheap in the scheme of things...considering it primarily seems to be aimed at automation of pump control and water level management. Obviously, one would be needed for every tank, but you wouldn't install such a system on a small ap setup, only one in which failure of one component would cause catastrophic results, financial loss etc...and the cost in such a system would be negligible. Not to mention peace of mind...but computers do go down, and pressure sensors do fail, and the power grid goes offline every time there is a thunderstorm here, so backup power and redundancy become considerations (not to mention additional costs). If I did nothing else but tend my (at present non-functional) ap system, I would only worry about backup power (solar/wind) for the pumps, but I work full-time and am frequently away from home for days at a time, so some trade-off between simplicity (read hands-on) and automation (read cost) is essential. If a software/hardware system could be developed that allowed me to "log on" to my system when I was away and check water levels and so on AND switch pumps on and off to adjust/top-up levels at a reasonable cost and risk I would be willing to spend. I love technology, but it has to work at reasonable cost and be worthwhile.

Any cost needs to be scrutinized for worth and need. I like the grass roots approach of ap, it's all a choice where we spend. I'm not ranting (I hope?), but that is my 2c worth!!!

:D :) :D
