Hi guys

very new to this, my neigbour brought me some of those blue barrels from his workplace but they were originally full of acetylene (i think that is how it is spelt) are they safe to use, or is there a way to make them safe?

i know i can get some food ones on ebay for about $30 but $0 is even better if they are safe

Thanks guys

Arif

Hi Arif, welcome to the forum :D

Regards those blue drums, do you mean Acetone? Acetylene is a gas.

I don't know about the safety of either compound.

yep, that would be acetone.

water will dissolve in acetone from emory so it shouldn't be too hard to clean out. and it has a distinctive smell so you can tell if its all gone ;)

Evaporates rapidly, so it should gas off any remnants pretty quick... good wash and a day or two in the sun
