Two days of 1/2 tsp flake feeding, and the readings are

pH: 6.8
NH4: 0.25/0.5 (hard to tell the difference)
NO2: 0
NO3: 2.5 (ish?)

So far it looks like 1/2 tsp is a good feeding schedule.

Found 2 floaters this morning. They are missing a some patches of scales, so I'm going to go with fighting as cause of death. No red blotches or fuzziness anywhere.

Readings are: pH 6.8, everything else 0. So I'm increasing the feed schedule to 1 tsp a day to see if the system can handle it.

2 more floaters today :(. They look the same as the others. Definitely need to find some uniodized salt. I know 1 ppt would be 1 gram per liter, but how does that translate to volume (either mL or tsp)?

1 kg salt to 1000litres.

1000 gal ~ 4500 litres.
2.2 lb ~ 1kg

How big is your FT?
1000gal, add 4.5Kg of salt (~10lb) to get 1ppt.

Sorry to hear that, tamo. :(

You need to add about 11 tsp of salt (~165ml) per 25gal (~100l) of water to get it to 2 ppt.

My tank is about 140 liters. So 15 tsp it is! Just need to find the uniodized stuff first.

Added 15 tsp of sea salt. Hopefully it'll do the trick.

2 more floaters today. It's weird that it's 2 each time. Did a 1/3 water change, and removed the prefilter on the pump. After water change, the readings are pH 7, everything else 0. Plants are still green, so I guess they are sucking up everything the fish are putting out.

Oh, added 5 tsp of sea salt to bring the concentration back up after the water change.

Found another sucking on the pump today. At least it's only 1. There are still no obvious signs of disease.
