Hi KE, yup, I'm one of them. Trained in 1982 in the good ole days of institutional care, and now in acute. Aint CPZ just the best? I was shown by an old warder how to catch birds with it.

I work in an ED, and I often wish I could give someone 100+2 or 100+10, but alas they wont let me  I've never tried to catch birds with it though.

CPZ syrup is what some bird poachers use to catch 'em. mix it with bread crumbs or seed and provided they don't eat too much they are yours. Otherwise they have the worst case of the look-ups you have ever seen. Of course, I don't endorse any of the above.

I wouldn't endorse it either, unless of course they also gave the bird a dose of cogentin.

Other nurses tell me that you can pick a Psych nurse by their weird sense of humour. I went to a new GP the other week (my regular one has ceased practice due to ill-health...hmmm) and during the get to know you conversation he said "You work in Psych, don't you" How did you know asks I, "Well, you don;t seem homosexual!" he replied!!!

I don't know of any other profession that laughs at sh!t like psych nurses. I once had to subdue an elderly woman who barricaded herself in her room behind her upturned bed and was lobbing sh!t grenades at passers by. One nurse waswatching and lauging at the antics going on and wore a facefull. That story is still good for a laugh in tea room chat.

I don't think he was.
Just the weird stuff they throw at you - chairs, tables, beds, meds, etc.

Unfortunatly I sent Janet my phone number for when the RSG was coming to town.
Mental note: take phone off the hook so Janet cant ring me in the middle of the night when she is having withdrawals.
