That's interesting. Now go build it and tell us how well it works!
I'd be afraid that eventually you would overfill the "tank" and burst it, or cause problems for the compressor because of back pressure.

interesting idea Ben.

give it a go!

if you're using a low pressure high volume blower then you'd be safe from bursting the tyre.

by the same token you're not going to pressurise the air much so the amount of reserve its gonna give you will prolly be quite small, look at it this way, a fairly standard medium size aquarium pump will do 5L/min (300L/hr) at about 25kpa. work out how many liters the tyre holds to get an idea.

the benifit of using a compressor and normal storage tank for your application is that it will pump the tank to say 750 kpa in effect giving you 30 time the tank volume when you regulate it back down to 25kpa.
