Hi from NQ
I have a bit of experance in AP
I helped design a project that converted a bannana plaintation to AP.
my website describes this experance
www.cairns.net.au/~freeformintegration/
it dose not describe how it was shut down by short sighted govt dept's and finance company's
i love AP and its off shoots , i have a small system in my back yard thats been up for about 6 weeks.
next year i will be taking this consept to Thailand, in an effort to make struggling farmers there more profitable.

Great stuff Fred.... will you be going as some sort of volunteer aid group or ngo?

Are you intending to build systems like the one pictured in villages?

Do you propose to gather funds for materials locally or from within Australia before you go?

How are you going to deal with the issue of power supply to pumps etc?

Just been reading your website Freddy.....

Quote:
Neem oil and copper sulphate combat most problems both are naturally occurring and safe to user and consumer

Freddy I think you need to perhaps further research AP and/or develope greater personal experience. Be careful what you claim with regards to consumer and product health.

FYI.... while I'm not going to question the possible effect of copper sulphate on human consumers...

You can bet your millions of fat profits it'll kill your fish in the blink of an eyelid :D

In realtion to power question;
power is avalible in most areas, other wise we will use a petrol pump to pump up to a res, or just deal with problems as they come up.
solar is to expensive for thai farmers more likley to fill a tank with buckets.
labour is very cheap there.

in realtion to copper sulphate.
the farm was a normal chemical farm, however the skill of the opperators had got the amount of required chemicals down to minimal amounts, with residuals in soil and collected water to below 6 ppm.
the farm was bannana growing in soil, all water was filterd through the soil and collected from creeks on propety and re used, mixed with spring water. copper sulphate was not used often and only at minamal amounts, enviromental damage was neg, we had frogs living happly in creeks, they die off very quickly at very low levals of toxins.

in relation to govt depts
DPI required us to use toxic chemicals we didnt want to use.
closed farm during black sigatoga out brake (we were only farm in area not infected) that pissed off DPI. And the inspector got grass seeds in his socks, seemed to be the main problem
dept water resources
wanted us to pay for water in our own creeks and dams(and tryid to stop us using it)
sun corp forclosed on morgage steaght after quarrinteen finshed .
farm sold , was bulldozed and now grows stock feed.
