Outside of the Cats, I rated The Pies as probably the only other contenders, as was shown last night......

Please delete the above after reading it so that noone can ever prove I said that

So goo the Cats....

Well it has been a big wknd in football. What can i say, a 44 year drought blown away by the biggest winning margin in Grand Final history! We were all there and have barely spoken of anything else since.. Feels great.

My water temp has been 11-13/14C. I did notice one little floater last week but the food seems to disappear ok. Water parameters are fine. I don't see the fish much bc their starter dust is sinking food. I am going to put the larger floating pellets in first next couple days just to bring the fish to the surface, give me a chance to have a bit of a look at them.

I feel a little uneasy not having seen them much lately, but the weather has been very unsettled and cool. Most of the small duckweed seems to disappear daily so I am not overly concerned. Warmer weather coming so I will see them a bit more.

Still don't see the fish much, but all the floating pellets disappear.

Finished the gh framework with dad today, (then watched the afl gf again!)
All that remains is to put my shadecloth on the gh and plant away. Getting very little nitrite and nitrate even tho I feel i am feeding quite a bit for small fish.

Given the size of my fish, things will prolly build slowly. I really expect to be going gangbusters late summer/autumn. This way now, I have a bit of a built in safety margin given my small bio load.

Water temps are up to a consistent 13-15 in the garage. I like the fact that rain water on my gbs finishes up in the fishtank, but the shadecloth will bugger that. However, birds will be kept out and the gh enviro will be a lot more stable. Even tho we had half inch of rain this week, my fishtank water level has been dropping due to massive winds/transpiration.

Remaining silvers in the spa are doing fine some at 300plus grams. Nitrates are going thru the roof but i change out some water each week on my (now happy) lemon tree.

Got 4 ibcs coming for free 2moro, feel a bit like a dog with 2 ummm....well.. guess u all know the line! Don't know what I will do with them but they are FREE so I will find them a good home.

At FFs suggestion i ran the net thru the tank a few times today. Only got one fish each time. Am thinking I only have one fish and it is DUMB. Looked like healthy solid little buggers tho. Water temps a little cooler so not expecting them to eat much. FF said he and Steve lost the fish they got from the same place as me. If I lose mine, I will be pissed.

I have been feeding reasonably, have very few plants in the system. (Don't have the gh cloth on yet to keep the birds out.)Am registering no ammo, buggerall nitrite and no nitrate. One tiny concern is when i added the shellgrit to the sump, it may have buffered quicker than desirable, raising a full point over 24 hours. The other concern is the silicone used by the tank manufacturer, too scared to ring him!

I still tend to feel they are just biding their time at the bottom of the tank til things warm up. I would have thought if there were lotsa casualties, I would have scooped some in the net today but didn't. They are tiny, it is a big cloudy tank, the water is still way below optimum feeding temps, there is plenty of salt in there. Just need some P, some faith and a bit of consistent warm weather to get them on the tucker.

If this is the glenburn place when you got 400, then i have lost maybe 5, but i don't think its cause of the fish, dad has lost 1 and Emir has lost none.
