yeh, all good, filled the main tank a litte bit more today, trout were always fine as theirs was the tank that was over flowing, the only things in the other one were the catfish which are small enough not to have been worried

Talking about HSM, just came back from mums place and though "gee feels kinda warm outside"

checked the weather website to find it is currently 20.9C at 11:53pm

and i only have 50% tank volume ATM........................might go check the tank temp ;) have been relying on overnight lows to keep water temps at 15C or below even though day times have reached mid 20's

The above relates to my trout ;)

System update:

ammonia= 0.0
nitrite= 0.0
nitrate=30 before a 50% water addition so i guess its 15 now ;)
PH= 7.4

Stock:

12 trout, averaging 30cms (12 inches)
14 Silver perch 5cms (2 inches)
Unknown number of tandanus catfish 70cms (2 3/4 inches)
two yabbies

Current plants:

approx 8 snow pea plants, one on the right of the grow bed is almost at the end of its production, the one on the left is full of flowers and about to start setting, reason for difference unknown

3 celery bunches, one has just been fully harvested (cut at base of stalks) the other two have a few stalks removed when i feel like some celery ;)

Parsley bush that was ruthlessly harvested over a week and is now re-growing

4 spring onions buried somewhere in there, ever now and then i see a shoot make its way out of the jungle and promptly pick it

about 20 broad (fava) beans that have all set flowers

A bush of eastern bloc watercress that just doesn't give up.

two strawberry plants that are still alive from last year under the snow peas, just waiting for some light.

There was some turmeric but i think the frost may have got it.

Oh, and some yarrow..............

And some vietnamese mint from F&F's open day last year ;)

And i'm itching to plant the tommies, so the the snow peas on the right may have to go to the chooks before they're done producing :(

I seem to be having more water usage than i'd expect for a winter, buth then i look at the snow peas and taste how JUICY the celery is and i think "nah, its probably about right!"

Had two people comment on the celery "is this how its MEANT to taste?" they were referring to how flavoursome and juicy it was.........come to thin of it, the store bought stuff IS pretty bland :shock:

That it is.................

LOL, the cupboard were bare a few days ago, and i was about to order pizza when i remembered i had fresh fish in the back yard..............then i remembered i had to clean them and ordered pizza anyway! ;)

The snow peas NEVER make it inside, i'll happily eat a doz. as i'm tending to my AP needs outside. :)
