Nope I can't get the pdf either.

IF you have it saved, you can upload it to

http://www.mediafire.com/#top

and share it from there.

Aluminium is another grey area... It has been linked to Alzheimer's disease and other defects. It shouldn't effect the fish but as it breaks down over time it can accumulate in the fish and the plants.

Aluminum is a grey area, I've used it in crayfish tanks and had no problem, but I've known other people that have used it with crayfish and had problems.

Zebra fish are the best test critters, if they can survive contact with any material, then it's safe for ANY fish.

As for metals, stainless and titanium are safe.

I am going to use the steel coil from the back of an old refrigerator.
I will take some pictures of it as I put it together.

I don't think the steel will last more than a year, but at least I can keep them warm this winter and its free.

Today I insulated the tank. Now I need to make a top for it to keep the heat in this winter. Nights are already getting down to 68.

Yea, In the US at least, the hot outside coil is steel. On my newest fridge the steel line ran through the pan that collects defrost water and it rusted away and sprung a leak. Thats why I'm not going to count on it lasting more than a year.

I am going to take an ac unit and replace its compressor with the one from my fridge and make it the cold coil. With a small fan this should help me pickup lots of heat from the environment. The great thing is while it only draws 300 watts I will be getting 900 watts worth of heat delivered to the tank; minus losses. I hope thats enough.

Well, I finally got started on it today. I pulled the compressor and cap tube from a working frig, pulled the compressor from a clean unit and soldered in the frig compressor into the ac condenser to be use as the cold coil.

I just have to get some tubing and flux for braze the copper and steel lines together.
