We pontificated about that, but with postal, it is a bit different.
If you don't want to vote you just don;t vote.
If you care you will fill in the boxes and in this case only 2 boxes need a number, ie 1 and 2 which leaves 3rd as blank.
The ballot is preferencial(sp?) voting, so with 3 candidats.
effectively 33% could win it! with preferences!

You have set yourself a big job. Just getting into Council is a massive and dirty job. (Expect the worst from the opposition, but don't participate in the mud slinging. you will be respected for not slinging mud)
Once elected you have an even greater workload just preparing for Council Meetings, even before you join council committees (the Planning Committee sounds like a good one for you)

But I have it on good authority that I would probably get
junior roles on the least important issues for sometime.

Don't think there is one is there?menial jobs are important,
imagine if the garbos stopped working we would be upto our eye balls within a few weeks.
Anything that requires a balanced view is important.

Now if the Margeret River council were to embark on an "efficient use/reuse of water" program and offer rebates to AP systems and wanted to increase their population base, within sustainable limits of course ....

I'd heard of a plan here in Australia to implant devices into "dimentia" patients... ostensibly to enable them to be identified if they wandered off and were found..... bit like a lost dog....

But this stuff is just plain Orwellian and BLOODY scary....

Now they're talking about requiring people to have implants in order to obtain a job... at least in some industries in the US of A.....

Have fixed the link - not that it is worth looking at. Tis onld news also - the idiot wrote it in July and was challenged on it over at ALS at the time I recall. I think he was subsequently banned from that site for his negative attitude to everything. Best to just ignore him - these types of people will just bring you down if you listen to them.
