Heres a couple of links:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violen ... ted_States
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Firearmsources.svg

I am not targeting USA, but it is the highest developed national gun related crime county.

Axl, were lucky, because our criminals are either too stupid or too poor to obtain illegal weapons. You can buy a lot of alcohol for the price of an illegal gun.

BK, when i say ban hand guns i mean to the extent that THEY ALREADY ARE. lol.

You can still have one if its kept at a club like you mentioned (i think) and there are professions that are allowed. but to my knoledge its not legal to own one and keep it in your top draw (or anywhere for that matter) THATS what i'm talking about.

You don't reckon we'd be worse off if it was a free for all? C'mon man.

we must be havn crossed wire...prob my fault..english is usually a second language to me......when ppl talk about banning handguns i take it that they mean further bans to what are already in place. I would bet that all the "floating" handguns and the ones your refering to in top draws are all illegal....the process of getting a handgun includes having your safe inspected at home by the fun nazi's aka boys in blue and getting fingerprinted.....yes it wont prevent anything, and like all laws they are only good AFTER THE FACT lol

lol at cmon man....... we would be at the same present level of handgun incidents becuase only OUTLAWS will have them...........they wont find it any harder to find ammunition, as anyone that does handlaods lol....c'mon man/men/boys

and IF im still misunderstanding, the same laws should apply in the US but I cant see that stopping anything either....ya pissin in the wind

Only one solution, ban all trees ;)

My late mother's favourite weapon to protect her frail self was a nail file.

i think the best way to be safe would be to end all personal freedom. do we need cars? wont dont really need alcohol do we? smoking should be banned for sure. what about the power tools, they can hurt you. if we buy all our food precut, we wont need knives. what good is caffine? fatty foods slowly kill. as long as we can be safer without something, we should ban it. think of all the crime caused by the internet...........

I've been advocating we abolish politics/politians for years for this very reason.....

The problem is, as I see it, if we did then the people with the biggest guns and nastiest attitudes would be those with the most vested interest.....

Big business, persuing greed and dictating foreign policy and international policy by armed force....

 .... ah well, might as well keep the pollies.... we've already got that situation in Iraq anyway.....

ive spent some time in a very violent place, i know i hate violence. i was part of a peacekeeping mission here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kosovo_War . alot of the way i feel about people comes from my time in the vo. the people with less arms had it the worse. it may take away the warm fuzzy feeling in a person, but sometimes the only way to get peace is to kill.

:salute:

you hit it right on the mark.
i have a friend that was on the ground in Mogadishu. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_ ... %281993%29
Bad times man...

if you all remember the USA pulled out of Somalia
Letting al-Qaeda win.
Propting the USS Cole, and then even bigger attacks.

I am a huge Gun Advocate, but only for people with proper training.
My gun training history is
Well 1st off I am an Eagle Scout with Boy Scouts of America.
Wile in pursuit of my Eagle, I got three NRA Certifications

.22 Long Rifle Masters
Hand Gun Masters
Black Powder Masters

I am a strict gun safety person. I am not a "FUN" guy to go shooting with, there is know “f-ing” around with me and guns.

The only high powered guns I have are a shot gun, a 306 rifle, and a black powder rifle and there so locked up and under so much stuff; I haven’t used them in 6 years.
All the others are .22's

I love my .22's ive gotten a grouping of 5 rounds with in a 1" at 95-100 yards.

I am stating this all you NEED is 1 Semi-Auto .22 Rifle. But .22’s have know stopping power for a determined person. That’s why you got to load them full. If you are defending your self, you need to empty your clip any ways. 1 shot 1 kill do not go well in a self defense trail. Even with the most skilled, trained, and calm person.
