one thing I should add though, is it doesn't hurt to rough up the rubber with some coarse sandpaper first. :D

Thanks mate...

I just checked my new plastic tubs and they too have the knife+fork symbol. I checked the website, they are made in Italy and the site has the symbol too on the products page for the tubs. Must be a european standard.
