Wish we had a nightingales equivalent here - but alas we don't. I think I may have excess baggage when I return from Melbourne after I come down in Oct/Nov :lol:

My wife is into native birds and has a net for catching them. While I can see that the net may be too long, it would be easy to cut it shorter and sew it up so that it would be fine for AP.

This assumes that the net is suitable for water.

Anyone know where you can get a net with the frame made of something stronger than tube aluminium? I have broken two aluminium framed nets this year whilst catching 1.5kg Silvers out of my tank.

I went and looked at the nets today. As EB said, they wouldn't really be suitable for catching fish in a tank. The mesh is very fine, and the net overall is kinda heavy. The net isn't terribly deep either.

I ended up with one of these nets, and a short wooden handled one as well ($4)

Janet's titanium ones look like something you would get after a lotto win :shock:
