Kevin, my best guess at this point is that the Columbia, MO wastewater treatment facility was most likely influenced by John Todd or Bill McLarney. Anyway.... the jump into recirculating aquaculture was the precurser to AP.

Since John Todd and Bill McLarney's article was published three years prior to Fred Houston Jr's article about building a Geodome ...I wonder if one influenced the other?

Then of course there was the famous "Catfish in a barrel" by Philip Mahen. 1973~
