Had angels for years. Whenever they started doing that they died within weeks.

Although I never got them diagnosed by a vet, I reckon they had mycobacteriosis. Because some of my other species of fish were carrying (I still have the clown loaches today - 13 odd years old) then every batch of Angels succumbed to the same fate eventually, which was very sad particularly for the ones I raised from fry.

Are they eating okay F&F? Any bloat?

Its been doing it for a month now eating ok and no bloat !

Hopefully not same thing then F&F - cos myco is real bad shit. Can't treat it.

The thing that worried me was that my angels did similar things to your sometimes. Eventually they would be like that during the day also - but if you gave them a hurry along they'd straighten up and swin properly. Eventually they'd bloat and that was the start of the end.

YEH.. That is a practical idea :D

Maybe it is like a vampire and doesn't like the light. Should you leave the light on more so that it's eyes can get used to the light?

If you turned the light on slowly (if you have a dimmer) would the fish do the same thing?

FYI - just saw this thread. Mine have done the flipping thing for years. No treatment given, none seems to be needed. Interestingly, the one that does this more is also a light colored one. The marbled one i have does not do this as often.

I always attributed it to them being shocked at the sudden brightness. I can't confirm that they actually sleep upside down, but just that they tend to spin when the light comes on. Thought that the light, or it's reflections on the glass in the dark just confused them which side was up.

Definately looks weird though.

if it's not mentioned in those forums I would be surprised. Always my first stop for angel questions.

Bloody hope it wasn't myko, just double up and agree that is super not fun. Never concluded if it was or not, but i got an infection on me thumb a few years back... nodule thing... took a lot of antibiotics to get rid of it. I was nausus for 6 months! thank you Mr flagyl and friends lol
but ya any internal gut probs, warped spines or ulcers on ya fish be sure ya wear gloves if ya have cuts on ya hands. It aint gonna kill a healthy digger but it'll take ya mind of sex for a while hey.
