hey muzza,

i'll post some pics tommorow with more detail.

one thing is that these tanks require 2 people to comfortably handle. i had to drag them by myself to where you see them in the pics. heavy buggers. i'm not sure how i would get one out to you as it would cost a fortune to transport. oh and theres only the one size tank. the others are bath tubs.

check your pm's.

Hi Bio-Farmer, Easiest and best way is to use Flow Coat .... If you PM me I will give the info you need to get them done.

How about the sizes of them, and some individual pix of the items so I can see the shape etc Perhaps if they are a good useable size I would like to buy one of each from you to make a mould off for future sales.
I will send them back to you all fixed up when finished. That's if they are a good useable size and shape.

Muzza.

unfortunately i'm on flat ground. the gravity idea is a good one i considered. this is not possible due to the size of the tanks.

they are actually very strong and don't need any support at all even when full.

i'll keep you in mind for sure.

thanks

Very nice work BF..! (jealous too). If you are interested in getting rid of a couple once you have restored them please let me know...

Are you on a flat block? Would be nice to have an incline and have gravity do some of the work for you.

Am I right in thinking that fibreglass tanks/tubs like this would need to be supported on their sides if were filled with water above ground, or is it strong enough (given that the fibreglass is a decent thickness)?

cheers

Hi Bio-farmer

For that number of bins you have you will need a 25 kg drum of Flow Coat plus some MEKP catalyst. Very thick polyester resin based paint especially for FG
A 25 kg drum will cost around 250.00 It is not cheap but is far superior to anything else you may try. Very thick and goes good over surfaces that are not totally smooth. Just sand back the rough surface enough to get rid of the dirt and any really rough spots.

The guys at FGI will give you good advice

well i measured up my tanks and not as big is a thought. turns out they are 100x100x70. still a good 700 letres. here's a couple of pic's to get more of an idea of what i'm looking at.

about half of the tanks have damaged upper corner as you can see in the first pic on the 2nd page. one of the reason's they were cheap.

any advice on what to do with them Murray? are they repairable or is it to difficult and not worth the effort? any other advice?

thanks
