Wondered about that..... I put a couple into pots about the same time ....

Then they got drenched for about 4 weeks and then clobbered by the cold for another couple....

The last week though has been a real turnaround..... overnight 14 degrees, lunch time today 24 degrees....

Kid you not I was mowing the lawn in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt.

Goji's and my strawberries have both shown marked growth in six or seven days.....

Had my [s]sex[/s] knee changed last wed, back home on sat
and today went for a short stroll outside with my physio
with no crutches.

Went better than expected, but leg still pretty swollen.

Didn't see my backyard yet, there are few steps to negotiate.

Had little spare time prior the surgery but almost finished work
on the Zero Pressure Solenoid.

Only need to make a 12 VDC power supply to plug into a timer
to power it.
Trial runs were on battery bank.

Cheers for now, Steve S.

Have you got a 12v plug-pack that would provide sufficient current? Depending on duty cycle some large capacitors could provide a intermittent load from a smaller capacity plug-pack.

Just trying to help.

Take it slow Steve and build up to those steps

Blew my 1st fuse on the actuators today - been activating 4 actuators at once on a 5 amp fuse, so that should give you an idea of the current drawn by one (changed to 10 amp now)

Thanks for that EllKayBee, the inst. manual has got 15A fuse on it.
Would allow for a pretty big inrush current.

The supply is not a problem, just had no time to finish it before the surgery.
Need a supply with power cord, not a plugpack to plug into a plugin timmer.

FF, the solenoid draws 0.5A holding current + the actuator + few mA
for the delay board.
12VDC 2.5 to 4Amps should do.

Should have some.
Got even two 12VAC 15A sealed trafos for halogen lights.
Using one for a small air compressor.

Got to see my backyard today and the inside of the garage as well.
All's pretty well. May start doing something soon, when nobody's around.
to babysit me.

Cheers all, Steve S

I agree with c1, I had a friend that had the same thing and she wouldn't be still, and has nothing but trouble since. Get well first.

Far be it for me to say don't do it, but you have a heap of nerve damage that needs to heal, before the story gets thru to your grey matter to say "oh that smarts" scar on scar is not a good way to go...
I am sure you have been told-
Speedy healing to you steve- green is good for healing, be sure to wear some.
C1
