Are you sure it is a fire watchtower? It looks like the ones they put up down in New Mexico and Arizona to watch the illegal immigrant races!

:glasses5: "Big Brother" isn't just a TV show in the US!

"Area 51, what's that? Never heard of it." MC

Surely you jest! You know, where we keep all the aliens from outer space and the flying saucers.

i think its for cameras or sensers or something. maybe a radio antenna? dunno all i know is its something for the wildland firefighters to use. would not make sense as a watchtower, the hills around it are taller than the tower.

oh we got lots of aliens. thousands and thousands. they work on the farms and frame houses in vegas for less then legal pay. cant even go to go to the nursery without them harassing you to pay them to plant your tree for you. aliens are ruining our welfare system and free medical care for poor americans.........sorry...............ill go on for hours. maybe i should ask area 51 to come and get them?

They will only come if they resemble "Roger" from "American Dad".

my spaceship looking aquaponic system is comming together good, only problem im having is the abs pipe im using is warping in the sun. think i may have to support it with angle iron or something. i was planing on the pipe provideing support for the top of the tank. i guess ill have to use more metal in it.

With the heat you get out there, and the amount of exposure to the sun any plastic will be hard pressed not to get soft at times. Probably metal will be better for support, but will not give you much advantage in heat reduction in supply/drain lines.

Good idea on painting, now if you can just scrounge up a couple of gallons of that super secret radar reflecting paint that they have out there at Nellis. (You know, the stuff that can make a plane into being like Wonder Woman's plane from the comic books.) Probably the biggest drawback of the ABS is it only comes in black, which absorbs and retains so much heat.

Hi MC,
Saw where you made a comment on Joel's post about your fish not wanting to eat when it is an overcast day. Could it be the barometric pressure is messing with them? I know when the pressure changes it can effect the feeding patterns of fish and animals. Also, it might be the tendancy of weariness coming out. A fear of getting caught because of not being able to discern danger as well. Or it could be a problem with not being as able to see the feed on the surface in contrast to the overcast sky.

Just a few thoughts.
Kevin

I think i want to use a IBC for a biofilter for a 1000 gallon tank with blugill in it, and use a NFT system to take the water from the filter to grow watercress to feed to my rabbits.
