eb have you looked into prices for freight companies for their "back loads".the return trips..sometimes a truck might go back empty or half loaded and the company would do you a good deal...or any small company/ single owner operator or semi owner that does interstate freighting

EB, I had a chat with the local freight company here (2 hours south east of Adelaide, Melbourne direction), and he rekoned about $150 for the tanks to get them here, a bit less for Adelaide. That is for the floor space, how many could you stack, 6 or 7? Seeing as the tanks are 1.4m diam they are an odd size, so they would be more than the grow beds.

I would guess the grow beds would be very close to the same size as two pallets, that would make them cheaper than the tanks. How many grow beds would fit in a stack 1m high? 10 or 12?

If it helps, a pallet space is 1.25m square.

One Interesting point to note... postage might be a bit expensive to the east coast... but I was qouted to get 3 IBC from Brisbane to Gladstone $300 Postage and Handling. (only 600km North)

So a bit more from Western Australia is fine. Also you need to think about the quality over time. Id rather have Joels GRowbeds if they are that harder plastic and will last for years then get something short term and not good...

Way to go JOEL!

These growbeds I notice in the system use expanded clay, however would they handle the extra weight if I put gravel in them?

Hi Ev, welcome to the forum.

PM Joel (Earthbound) to verify they would be OK with gravel.... I'd say no problems...
