My fish tank temp is 20 degrees C at night without pumping and with air pump running only 15 mins every hour from 7.00pm to 6.00am.
During the day it drops to 17-18 degrees C because of pumping through growbeds..
If think insulating the fish tank and lining the growbeds with polystrene foam helped heaps and also the 400w heater

I just checked ours then, the surface temp is 18-19 deg, the shower cap obviously helps retaining the heat, the thermometer is sitting in a styrofoam raft with it's bottom in the water .

yeah cold is when you go out and it takes an hour to chop through the ice on the pond so the cattle can get a drink.

Cold it is. Have just got back from business trip. Not sure exactly how cold it was while away, but needless to say lots of plants are dead after heavy frosts. Even the stuff in the grow-bed was hit hard. All the paw paw leaves are dead and fruit damaged (will probably pull it out now) and the toms were hit hard - most leaves dead. Further highlights the need for me to have a greenhouse.
