It's the age old question TT, no one has the answer to that, but it's questionable whether it's safe, so you should line or seal to be on the safe side...

TT, why not go with aquaplating like the tank - no need for extra treatment then

Thanx team aquaplating may be the go.

Will prolly run some sort of bracing around them Monya. Zinc alum comes in 1.2 mt widths b4 it is folded, so 600mm wide by 300mm high would seem the go. This being the case, i could fit 10 in the GH for 5000lts of GB space, a lot better than using steel barrels. If i just get a couple at a time it will flatten my start up cost a bit. As the fish grow just get a couple more GBs. Like this the more i think about it.

niloc, was there a join, or just one piece folded? 900mm w by 300mm high gives a 1.5m sheet width. I am told 1.2m is standard. How much were they?

yep, 75mm round head bolt for hoop framework, 100mm ones to join timber to the footings. Like any backyard job, the further away you get, the better it looks but pretty happy.

Leaning towards 4 by 6m long by 900mm wide by 300mm deep GBs. Gives me 6500lts of GBs in a 7m by 4.5m GH. Gunna sit them on the ground and keep the pipe work very simple, draining to stormy pipe in last pic, then back to sump or straight to fishtank. Will have max 2800lts out of 6000lt fishtank at any one time, just need to make sure i have a buffer for fubars.

Will comission GBs one at a time, but have all pipe work in place at the beginning.

Anyone got any suggestions or areas of improvement/advice?

Thx Axl. Feels like it is coming on slowly but that's ok. Tricky bits still to come but nearly got it sorted in my noggin.

Height is about 2.5 mts in the middle EB, 4.5m wide by just over 7m long.
