Paintball as an absolute blast, loads of fun.

Don't think it is automatic Nova, certainly trained in the use of all types of weapons but doesn't come with a civilian licence (unless there has been changes)

was once told by a cop that they only have a permit to carry a firearm.and that there is heaps of paperwork to fill out once they draw it from their holster lol

I was a bit cryptic there.....meant that soldiers are given extensive training in weapon handling but still need to apply for a civilian licence/permit if he wishes to possess/carry a firearm other than in a military capacity

The state Governor of Missouri signed legislation last week that eliminated our state Pistol Purchase Permit. Now all you have to do is meet the Federal requirements; over 21, not have a criminal record or mental illness or drug addiction, not be under a court order of restraint (had a complaint filed against you for physical violence), and pass the FBI background check. I don't know if you still have to wait the state mandated 10 day waiting period or not, they instituted that reg a while back in response to a couple of shootings after the shooter bought a gun and used it immediately after purchase (same day, and in a couple of cases within the hour). Last year they passed the right to carry law, and now for the first time in 150 years a resident of my state can obtain a concealed carry permit. Prior to this you could carry, but it had to be exposed. (Unfortunately, most municipalities do not like the idea of folks walking on the street with a holstered handgun in open view. Personally, I think it isn't such a bad idea. Let the hoods know who is packing, so they can go find someone else to victimize!)

Back to MC's main topic here; MC, have you ever tried firing paintballs in a muzzleloader? A while back I thought about it, and one fellow I knew suggested freezing the balls before using them!!! I don't know if the explosion of the blackpowder in the barrel would have enough heat to melt the paint, without melting the plastic, and allow the paint to hit the target as a liquid, rather than as a solid. If it didn't it would possibly end up in a tragedy!

lol, ah no wonder I like ya so much MC, a man after my own heart! I love paintball! When I lived in Vancouver, BC, I used to go at least twice a month and sometimes weekly. I arranged for work to even pay for it a couple of times as 'team building' exercises!

When we were robbed last year one of the items I'm most upset about losing is my A5 with a Spec Ops flatline barrel. It was one of the best shooting markers I've ever owned. I prefer to avoid the electronics and go with mechanical. I haven't played at all this year, in fact not since the robbery.

I'd love to know more about the place in KC, I wish I had known about it in Dec, I was just there. I definitely would've found a way to sneak off and check it out. Heck I went on an outing so I could go check out the Cabela's! And this sounds like even more fun. I may have to find another excuse for the family to go visit my wife's family again!

Rassd71, the place is called Jaegers Paintball Park. They are listed in the KC MO Yellow Pages, and can be seen at www.jaegers.com

Not plugging the business for any personal gain, just providing some info. (I am not affiliated with this business in any way.)

Kevin,
Thanks, I was hoping you'd post a link.

MC,
I still have a complete M98 and an M98 in pieces. I didn't know you could get a cyclone feed kit for one... oooh. That may go on my christmas list!

i like the 98 with the cyclone better then the a5. if it is not a 98c you need to drill a hole.

Started playing when I was about 12, haven't played in years though. I know now a days its more about firepower, than cleverly sneaking up to you opponent & splattering the hell out of him. I've seen these 2 finger electronic trigger, kazzillion round per minute things... Definately not the same game... Surely more intense though.
