Was thinking the same thing - but wonder if that would just make it all the more sickly. Will try it sometime though. Could always feed it to the chooks - but then they shoudn't be getting too much fat I guess. Are there any animals that convert fat back to protein and then can be fed to the fish.

Any animal fat can be rendered to clean it up a bit. Depending on how clean it comes, you could make soap perhaps.

Grobest have a "Native Eco" fish food...low in protein, low in fat especially for silver/jades....sell in 30kg bags, don't have a price
