Those beds have 11 50L bags of hydroton in them, so 550L is a comfortable level of media in them.

managed to see Mon laying on his back in the shade of a GB, on the phone ordering pizza and hasseling the client for beers..

Great job EB,
I like it.. clean, uncluttered yet modern and sophisicated. The red of the hydroton really sets it off :wink:
Costs about £145 for 11 bags over here, pricey stuff.

It's not cheap stuff Hex, but when you weigh up the cost of the time spend washing and shovelling gravel.. And the time savings when planting in the clay.. Ahhh the joys of planting a flooded clay bed.. :)
