They're called mini Dingoes, which is the brand name mc. Come in a range of sizes. Every second tradie in Aussie has one. About 24grand new or in my case, $150 for the day.

Plastic, plumbing and fishtank to go DC. Also2-3 metres of something to fill in the base and about 3metres of rock for the GBs. Hoping i can use the 750watt spa pump inline so i don't have to buy one. See what the plumbing people say.
Hoping i can get out of it for under $2500 all up and yes, i will have done VERY well. The kicker will be the fishtank. Haven't quite decided on size or type yet.
Still a ways to go but the hoops go on this wknd and then it starts to look like a GH.

Going in the garage behind water tank AP. Will give me a bit more control over water temp, bit more grow bed space. (Really just a sneaky way of pinching more room for AP.) I plan to wall off half my 6m by 4m garage, so will have 3m by 4m. Should give me room for a couple good size tanks and will keep my pump there out of the weather.
When i can say i have fish purging in my kid's bathtub, i know i will have arrived!

This weekend's progress. One metre b grade scoria covered with one metre crusher dust. I will update costings in post on page 1. Finished most of base boards, extra one on southern side is for support, will put one on western side for same reason. Hoops are in preliminary positions to give us a feel for the final setup.

I am thinking i will place Shadecloth around the base like the pic on Aussieponic's front page, to help with a bit of temp reduction. The footings extend to a height of about 50cm and these will be what we fix the shadecloth too.
I really should have the plumbing sorted by now but still kinda working thru it in my head.
This is a north facing spot so light and temperature are not going to be issues. I really just want to extend my growing season a bit. Keeping birds out and using less water than my dirt garden are also major considerations. (Along with the whole fish fun thing!)
There is a fall of nearly a metre to the garage so i am hoping to drain via gravity. The fishtank and walling off of half the garage will take a fair bit of work once GH is setup. During this time i may pump from and drain to sump tanks using some "natural" ammonia to cycle the system. That way when i am ready to add fish it should be full speed ahead. Don't really have a target date but we should be pretty close in another month or so.
