The wife and kids are asleep so here is a quick update (of sorts :) )
Below you will see the difference a month makes... the left is the image of the system just after installing the last GB into the student system... the one on the right is from this weekend - fantastic growth when you compare pics... BYAP member 'Len' visited today and was amazed at the progress (but to be fair, be last visited before I even put the structures up for the blue barrels, so A LOT HAS happened since he was here last

Yep, a cutting which has lovely roots after just over a month of being in the gravel - I will be using AP to root more of them as I love the variations you get in colour and shape in crotons...
There was enough root after a week but to be safe I left it a month and each cutting has a well developed set of roots... the softer wooded cutting root a lot faster than the Crotons.

Uh huh! Now the truth is out! Fool the Headmaster into thinking this is to teach the kiddies, when the goal was to feed the instructor!  (Sometimes being devious has its benefits!) :D

Did you have to resort to doing any "home work" in order to get those results? And if so, what brand? Unfortunately the only Aussie beer we can regularly encounter here is Foster's Gager. (It seems to be just about the only one mass marketed, there might be others out there in niche or boutique bars, but most liquor and grocery stores carry only the Foster's.)

We have a couple of old Fosters cans (10 years old) in a cupboard. I heard it can improve with age. Any truth in that F&F? :)

There has been a 6 pack of VB in our back fridge (beer fridge) for about 2 years now. No one drinks it either... I think it is a WA thing not to drink Victorian beer.

another experiment attached to the school system - these are mostly cuttings in expanded clay balls which are fed by a mini sprinkler system with water straight from the tank :)
