ok ok so i guess i deserive he sarcasm, i was just meaning instead of having to replace all the water like in hydroponics if its possible to sustain and keep it balanced like in aquaponics, guess the answer was so obvious that i didn't see it, but at anyrate im planning on building a ntf system that uses foam to hold the plants in place and no growcups, just a gravel filter that i have has sucess with

rb, seems to me that if you cycle your system with ammonia you have "no fish" AP. You'd have nitrates (N) for "leafy greens". The fish poop adds the extra dimension of P and K for the full AP Vege range :) :? I hope I have this right......anyone......?!

are the pipes tied/connected to the wall bracket at all? I can't see any tied downs.

no tie downs, i heated up the pipe and made a flat spot for it to sit so it dosn't roll and the weight of the water and plants dose the rest.

for the k ill add greensand and for the p ill add phorporus or how ever you spell it ill still have the bactera how ever i realize its basically organic hydroponics, i was just pondering this so i don't have a bunch of fish to deal with in the winter.
