We are certainly out of synch here...
chelated iron for iron deficiency...can be bought at "B", I put in a spoonful (5g spoon comes with packet) once a month for a 1,000 litre tank.

Some of us are also trialling MinPlus (mineral dust with all the trace elements), not sure if that is avail in Canberra

See what others think about what is missing

Edit: that should read 5 gram size spoon measure - not 5mg, have changed it

Just buy some chelated iron from a nursery or hardware shop. It comes as a powder, just mix a bit in some water then pour it in. It's a fairly common deficiency for AP but easily fixed. You may need to add a little from time to time. It's safe for the fish, and for you.

and just to catch up a bit, sorry no pics of flies. i am pretty sure i know what they are but cant remember what they are called, in the fly stage they are ok but in the larval stage they eat your roots and slow if not kill seedlings, but thats soil based.

Go pah! nice to see some growth! Are you growing under a standard furo tube? let us kow if the iron doesnt fix it, i always find that the std. fluros leave the plants a bit wanting.................

A tip with the pics, add them in the reverse order you want them to display, just a qwerky thing!
