Congratulations Chris Vermeulen, the most under-rated, under funded, unappreciated and unlucky Moto GP rider...... another Ozzie... Winner at Lemans.

Oh and by far THE BEST WET WEATHER rider bar none.....

Hope it's the first of many mate!

Congrats also to Casey Stoner (third).... a great ride in the wet and finished in front of Rozzi..... and they said it was just the power advantage of his Ducati......

actions speak louder than words .... and Casey you just shouted your credentials to the GP paddock loud and clear

File comment: Rossi ritualistically bonds to his motorcycle before each race. This is no joke. He is known to other riders as highly superstisious!

Thanks Les, though the credit goes to a fellow by the name of Jim Rache, who travels with the MotoGP circuit and snaps photos for the race magazines. He frequents our motorcycle board and lets us have the scraps! I've seen the picks and they are really fabulous.

Round 6, Mugello - Italy. June 3rd..... a fast track will give Ducati the advantage.

Sorry guys....been slacking since the series entered Italy Round 6. Here are some pics from Round 6 Mugello, Italy.

Rossi had a special helmet made for the race to show his home crowd and the press that his heart was in the race......

Rossi proved that the 07 championship would not go uncontested.

And just so others can appreciate the lean angles, here's a picture of Marco Melandri behind Hayden dipping the bike and his elbow just about into the track.

And since Mugello wasn't too too spectacular, how about that Kawaskaki garage? Nice bikes!

But the highlight of the season so far....Round 7 at Catlunya, Spain.

Absolutely spectacular barn burner between Stoner and Rossi, with Pedrosa adding some tension.

What makes Rossi so great, is that he knows what sportsmanship is all about: He had this to say post race:

"What a race! Even if I'm disappointed not to win, it's a great emotion to be part of a race like that and fantastic fun. It really was an amazing battle to the end with many wonderful overtaking manoeuvres by both of us in all different parts of the track! Unfortunately I lost a bit of time at the start and then it was quite hard to pass Hopkins because he was fantastic on the brakes. Then with Stoner it was a great fight and honestly I couldn't have tried harder to win, but he was a very hard rival. There were some places were we could have been better today, not just on the straight but also in some corners, but anyway it was a great experience and it will help us to understand what we need to do to keep on improving. Yamaha and Michelin are working very hard and the fact that we could fight like this today to the very end showed this. Of course I'm sad because I've won a lot of times here in Montmelo and I wanted to win again, but like I said, I don't think I could have done anymore today! We know that we can beat Stoner but today he rode like a god and he's a fantastic rival, so congratulations to him."

Congratulations to Stoner gaining 12 points on Rossi in the championship....on to Donnington Park where John Hopkins will be looking for some podium action.

Good to see real sportsmen, and not petty rivalry... :)
