I've been sitting on the sideline for long enough.
First off I would like to thank ever body that contributes to this great forum.
I started building my system just after Christmas & it’s now up & running.
I took photos at all stages through the process & have just started to Photo shop them down to a reasonable size.
I know how everybody loves photos so I’ll start at the beginning & work my way through till now.
My system consists of a 6 thousand-litre fish tank & 4 x 1 thousand-litre grow beds. All housed inside a 12M x 4.5M green house

The sump is a 200l drum in the ground. Crushed concrete ( 4,5 tonne ) was then spread over the area 50mm thick. The large open area in photo 4 is for the fish tank crushed concrete under the tank is about 150mm to 200mm so the tank doesn't sink into our sandy soil.

Tanks arrived 19/01/07 after waiting nearly 10 weeks.
It’s a problem trying to buy tanks in the middle of a drought.
I went for gal/aquiline tanks mainly on price.
The fish tank is 2.5M x 1.2M & cost $650
The grow beds are 1.8M x 0.3M & cost $190 each.

Magic David... Very neat work with the drain piping and drain tank underground... :D

Very sturdy looking structure above the system as well.
How did you manage to get the tanks made so cheap, thats cheaper than when I had mine made over 3 years ago, great work..

I phoned around a couple of sheet metal manufacturers & that was the cheapest quote. Maybe living in a rural area the prices are cheaper than in the city.
