Nah, they're home grown zuccini's thats the beauty of it... I just have to fish out the little green rings when they're done.

I should have mentions--I do strip the heavier veins out of leaves before feeding them to the tilapia. I did have fibers start wrapping the pump impeller before I learned that trick.


sounds like a coarse filter would work well here:
garden scraps to Tilapia, then pull the stringy stuff, throw to the worms/bsf hatchery.
Grow all the duckweed you can, and hope that will be enough!

I know there are some places that grow tilapia in ponds, and let them feed off of algae, and any insects that are unwise enough to drop in for dinner. We're looking for higher fish concentrations than that.
