DON'T use it unless you know how to purify and have the patience to do so.
I'm guilty of the later an just about wiped out my garden.
I added more than a qt. Directly to my tank which sent all my vitals through the roof!
Don't know how my fish survived several weeks of this punishment.
Currently on the track to recovery with some new plants and
no fish for a couple weeks. Vitals are slowly coming down
Didn't take long for thar retention pond to take over :upset:

That's a good question. My first thought is to not use any pond water where it was obtained. A rinse may help too.

If you were to buy it online, isn't it decontaminized in some way?
