Purchased some iron chelate from bunnings ( the only iron chekate available that I could see)
And when I hit it home realised it was lignosulfonate chekate, and not any of the other compounds mentioned online and in forums for use in aquaponics.
I can't seem to find any information anywhere on its suiribility for aquaponics systems, but also see no reason for it to not be effective.
Has lignosulfonated iron been considered as an option to supplimenting aquaponics systems?
Or is there a reason why I should steer clear of it.
If it's OK, how do I know how much to dose?

You would probably be ok with careful foliar spray. I found one as well, that I couldn't find any info on if it was fish safe or not. I used it as a spray on the leaves a few times, being careful not to get it on the media, and all has been well.
But, I have since bought dtpa and feedh, I think, and have been adding these to the water as necessary.

The safety sheet suggests that it is not hazardous to aquatic life.
From a govt standpoint at least, but also suggests keeping out of waterways :/

Sorry, it was fe edta that I meant to write above. If you feel comfortable with the data, give it a go! You might be able to check it out with some feeder goldfish.... If not, get something tried and true. I don't know what shopping is like where you are, but maybe a hydroponics store might have more selection than Bunnings...
