I use food from Star Milling Co. I've had good success for several years. I get from my local feed store at about $30 per 50# bag. I used Aquamax in the past but it is special order from my local store. No shipping cost but you have to wait for it to come in on the regular truck.

Hey dstjohn,
Which Star Milling food do you use?
I know it's somewhat readily available in SoCal.
I am just about finishing a bag of Aquamax, like one day left.
I usually get my chicken feed and the like from a mill close by, and they carry the Aquamax. But, they are closed to the general public right now, and they don't know when they will open. They gave me a lead for a pet shop owner who is getting special orders from them, but he's been giving me the run around for two weeks....and the mill told me over the phone that they had it in stock.....I know that the fish can survive a few days without food, but I don't want them to go too long....

I might have to look into another food source.....for now.

Can anyone else in Southern California weigh in? Where do you get fish food around Los Angeles, and which one do you use?

Interesting, my local feed store is an essential business and has not closed. Be sure you are working with a feed and supply store, not pet stores.

Also, I am using their tilapia food. I was feeding it to my catfish too as it is the right protein content and the pellet size is smaller than the catfish feed, so better suited to a wide variety of fish sizes and types. However for my trout I am using Aquamax 400 but it is triple the cost.
